Christkindl Market

Travel to a quaint European village with a special holiday spirit — Nov. 9-11 in historic Canandaigua

All over Germany in the weeks before Christmas you’ll find wonderful Christkindl markets—outdoor holiday bazaars selling crafts, gifts, holiday decorations, fragrant gingerbread, hot cider, wine, and beer. You can experience that old-world feeling Nov. 9-11 on the grounds of the Granger Homestead & Carriage Museum in Canandaigua. With more than 110 juried artisans, German food, wine and beer, delicious holiday treats, live music and family entertainment, it’s the perfect way to start your holiday season. Kids can meet the “Christkindl Angel,” visit the Elf School and Santa’s House, take a photo with Santa, and walk in a Children’s Lantern Parade at 5 p.m. on Saturday. The event is held in a heated tent, so no problem if the weather’s nippy. Inside the beautiful Granger Homestead the Festival of Trees runs from Nov. 9-Dec. 8, with over 100 unique community creations.
